Disston started as the Keystone Saw Works outside Philadelphia PA. The company was very innovative and was world renown for high quality industrial and consumer saws.
In the early 1950s, with mounting debt and lack of family interest to keep the business going, the family sold the business to H.K. Porter in 1955.
