1962 P&LERR Building.jpg
Pittsburgh PA: View of the P&LERR (Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad) building and yard on the south side next to the Smithfield Street Bridge. Formed in 1875, the P&LERR; also known and the little giant, served the steel, coke, coal, and iron ore industries in and around Pittsburgh. With the decline of the industries during the 1980s, the railroad ceased operations in 1993.
