1970 Bethel Park vs St Clair 5.jpg
Bethel Park PA: The Bethel Park offense completing a pass to tight end Gary Biro after excellent blocks from both backs. Others in the photo; Chip Huggins 32, Clark Miller 30, Dennis Franks 66, Mike Stewart 11. The Bethel Park offense and defense played very well in the 16-0 shut-out of the Upper St Clair Panters. Mike Stewart suffered a serious knee injury right before halftime when an idiot on Upper St Clair, Lynn Carson, purposely jumped on his leg when he was holding for a field goal. The good news, the 38-yard field goal by Tom Skladany was successful and it was the beginning of Tom's very successful high school, college, and pro career. The defensive unit was one of the best in Bethel Park history only allowing a little over 7 points a game.
